You can use the site without an account. If you create one, we store your email address and sign-in records. A sign-in record includes the IP address used to request the code. Records older than a day are deleted. We don't ask for your name, National Insurance number, UTR, bank details or date of birth.

A question is sent to our server and then to xAI (Grok) so we can write an answer. Before that, we remove anything that looks like an NI number, UTR or bank details. We don't store the question or the answer, and we don't write the question text to our logs.

We keep a count of questions and receipt scans per IP address in the server's memory, so the free daily limit can be enforced. That count is not saved to disk. It is cleared when the day ends or the server restarts. Restarting the server starts the count again.

If you use receipt reading, the photo is sent to our server and then to xAI (Grok) so the amount, date and supplier can be read. We don't store the photo on our server or write what was on it to our logs. The picture stays in this browser. You check the result before it is saved. Questions you type are also sent to xAI.

Without an account, books, checklist ticks and this notice stay in your browser. Receipt photos stay on your device. With an account, the books figures are stored on our server, encrypted, so they can sync. You can export or delete them at any time. Deleting the account removes the email, sign-in records, reminder history and encrypted books immediately. Receipt photos in this browser are not uploaded except while a scan is being read, and the server does not keep them.

If you accept on the cookie notice, Google Analytics sets cookies so we can count visits and see which pages are useful. If you say no, it doesn't. We don't use advertising cookies. To change your choice, clear this site's data in your browser and the notice will ask again. A signed-in session uses one cookie that the browser sends back to us. Page scripts cannot read it.

Sign-in codes and optional reminder emails are sent by Brevo. We don't sell your email address.
